I... what? Where am I? And where's that dial-up modem sound coming from...?

Okay, serious time. I'm a grad student who uses art and writing as a steam vent on my stress (and believe me, there's plenty of stress to go around). I'm a native English speaker, near-fluent in Japanese (down from fluency a few years ago due to lack of practice) and, with the help of a Barcelonian friend, trying to retain the six years of Spanish I've been gradually losing since high school.
